Judicial Services
The Coroner investigates deaths occurring within the County and certifies the cause of all deaths not properly certified by a licensed physician.

Court Administration
Administers and supervises the Centre County Judicial System as directed by the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas.

Criminal Justice Planning
Works closely with the Court of Common Pleas, the Board of Commissioners and other County offices to evaluate, monitor, develop, coordinate, and/or enhance the operation of criminal justice services within the County.

District Attorney
Serves as the chief law enforcement official of the County. Conducts all criminal prosecutions in Court in the name of the Commonwealth.

Domestic Relations
The DRS prepares petitions for both child and spousal support, establishes support, enforces support orders, establishes paternity for children born out-of-wedlock, and locates absent parents.

Jury Duty
Information regarding jury duty and Centre County’s Jury Commissioners, who administer the criminal and civil jury selection process.

Prothonotary & Clerk of Courts
Index documents, and maintains all records of the Civil and Criminal Courts.

Supervises adult and juvenile offenders placed on probation by the Court of Common Pleas.

Provides services relating to probate of wills, marriage licenses, birth and death records, and adoption procedures.

Serves writs, processes orders and other judicial documents; issues firearm licenses, executes sheriff's sales, and provides custody and transport for individuals under legal detention.
