GIS - Geographic Information Systems
County GIS
The Centre County GIS Office is a team of GIS Technicians and Specialists, supervised and assisted by a Coordinator. GIS staff perform mapping and spatial database maintenance work for various Centre County Departments including, but not limited to, Planning, Tax Assessment, 911, and the Conservation District. An underlying department goal is to enable Centre County Government to work more effectively and efficiently by utilizing spatial information and GIS.
Public Parcel Viewer
The Public Parcel Viewer website will provide some basic information about parcels, FEMA flood maps, Soils, School Districts, State Parks, State Forests, and State Game Lands. This website will not give ownership information. For tax related information contact the Tax Assessment Office at 814-355-6721.
Open Data
The GIS Department has now created an Open Data Site for the free distribution of GIS Data. This site allows you to search for layers by key words or by themes. You can download the data in Excel spreadsheet format, or via ArcGIS Shapefile format. You can also filter the selection prior to downloading the data. Additionally, we have links to our public facing Mapping websites and story boards.
