CATA (The Centre Area Transportation Authority) is a mass transit agency that provides transportation within State College and surrounding areas as well as the Pennsylvania State University. CATA offers no-fare transit service for the Penn State Community to access areas across the Penn State Campus.

CATA Bus is a community service consisting of 19 different bus routes providing service between Downtown State College, the Penn State Campus, Bellefonte Borough, the village of Pleasant Gap, and various shopping centers, apartment complexes, government offices and many other points of interest.

CATAGO! is an on-demand transportation service with service to Boalsburg, Bellefonte, and Pleasant Gap areas Monday - Saturday. Priced at just $2.20 per ride, CATAGO!

CATA Commute connects employees who live near each other and provides them with a recent-model van or SUV. Riders commute together, similar to a carpool, saving money and freeing up time to relax or catch up on work.

CATA RIDE provides origin-to-destination transportation primarily for persons 65 and over and persons whose disabilities prevent their use of the CATABUS system.


Gameday Football Shuttle

During home Penn State football games, CATA also runs two special service routes which serve as the gameday football shuttle. The Downtown Shuttle runs on a loop through downtown State College en route to Beaver Stadium with bus stops placed in front of a number of various hotels located along the route. The other route is the South Atherton Shuttle which also runs from a designated parking lot in the Hills Shopping Center to Beaver Stadium, allowing fans to park their cars and take the shuttle to the stadium.

Another Option is in conjunction with Penn State University, Fullington Trailways offers round trip transportation to and from Beaver Stadium for Penn State Football Games!
