Drug Forfeiture Account

Pennsylvania Statutes provide that property used or intended to be used in violation of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act is subject to forfeiture. Property and money forfeited is transferred to the custody of the District Attorney and may only be used for the enforcement or prevention of violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act. The District Attorney may designate proceeds from forfeited property to be utilized by community based drug and crime fighting programs and for relocation and protection of witnesses in criminal cases.

County Asset Forfeiture Reports:

Pennsylvania Statutes provide for an annual report and audit of forfeited property being held by the District Attorney’s Office. Currently there are no procedures or guidelines regarding making these reports public. It is the policy of the Centre County District Attorney’s Office to publish these reports after audit and receipt by the Attorney General.
